Skincare for sailors
We love being on a boat, playing in the sun and wind, but out on the water your skin can get too much of a good thing.
Our seaweed-infused balms soothe, moisturize, and protect dehydrated, weather-sensitized skin with no worries about what you’re absorbing or what’s running down the drain.

How Salt Habit was born
"It was during the sea trial for our Bayfield 32C. The broker told me to get petroleum jelly and put it on my face while I was sailing to protect my skin. I freaked."
(Did you know? On the original patent application filed in 1872, it states, "The substance from which Vaseline is made is the residium of petroleum left in the still after the greater part of the petroleum has been distilled off." Eew. Seriously. You don’t want that on your face.)

Why you want to wear seaweed
More nutrient dense than plants, Seaweed is full of protein, minerals, and vitamins including A, B, C and E.
Seaweeds are humectants, drawing moisture from the air to keep skin hydrated. Preventing dryness improves skin's texture and elasticity, softening and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles...
Our motto? Keep it simple.
We believe the best care for skin is simple: not too many products, not too many ingredients in each product. This can actually irritate sensitive skin.
Minimal, high-quality ingredients selected for their sustainability as well as effectiveness is what floats our boat.
