Why you want to wear seaweed

INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT: SEAWEED

Called the oldest plant on Earth, Seaweed is actually a type of complex algae, not a plant, as it doesn’t have roots, stems or leaves.

Seaweed forests support fish, invertebrates, and marine mammals by providing food and shelter. Seaweed also absorbs CO2, reducing acidity in the ocean.

More nutrient dense than plants, Seaweed is full of protein, minerals, and vitamins including A, B, C and E.

SEAWEED IN SKINCARE

Seaweeds are humectant, drawing moisture from the air to keep skin hydrated. Preventing dryness improves skin's texture and elasticity, softening and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Antioxidants found in seaweed have anti-photoaging properties helping to even skin tone, reducing redness and sun spots caused by exposure to sun, wind and water.

YES, IT'S ALSO SUSTAINABLE + ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

Of course, the effectiveness of the ingredients we use is a top priority but equally important to us is their impact on the environment. The seaweeds used in our skincare are hand-harvested and dried by a small family-owned business on the coast of Maine, Maine Seaweed. The founder, Larch, known affectionately as "the seaweed man", has been working on the cold, clean water hand-selecting beautiful seaweeds for over 40 years. Their quality is tops!
